Large Item Curbside Pickup gives residents an opportunity to place eligible large household items at the curb for collection.

No booking is required. Items must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your community’s scheduled collection day.

Accepted Items

  • Stoves
  • Barbecues (no tanks)
  • Washers and dryers
  • Lawnmower (all fluid drained)
  • Mattress and box springs
  • Rain barrels
  • Furniture
  • Snowblower (all fluid drained)
  • Sinks
  • Lawn furniture
  • Toilets
  • Wheelbarrow
  • Bookcases
  • Doors

Not Accepted

  • Tires
  • Freezers / Fridges
  • Propane tanks
  • Air conditioners
  • Assembled swing sets
  • ANY Car parts
  • Batteries of any type
  • Liquids (paint cans, gas, oil, chemicals, etc.)
  • Household waste
  • Construction materials
  • Black bags
  • Electronics (TVs, stereos, computers, printers, towers, etc.)
  • Jerry cans
  • Items larger than 1.8 metres (6 ft) in length

Large Item Curbside Pick-Up dates have been scheduled for participating communities. Please ensure items are out evening before or by 7 a.m. morning of event.

Collection Requirements

  • Houses with back alleys must have large items put out at the front of your property for collection.
  • All items must be placed at the curb / at end of the driveway.
  • Put a note on items (hockey nets, lawn mowers, wheelbarrows, rain barrels, bicycles, etc.) to help identify it as being out for pick up. If an item is not marked, it will be left behind.
  • All items must be less than 6 feet by 3 feet (1.8 metres x 0.9 metres) and weigh less than 200 lbs. (90 kg).
  • Different trucks collect different items, and where possible, items are sent to be recycled.
  • Please wait until the end of the day for your item to be picked up.
