The Roseridge Reuse-It Centre provides a place for residents to leave selected reusable items for others to take and use again.
Rather than sending useful materials to disposal, the Reuse-It Centre helps keep suitable household, recreational and home-improvement items in circulation.
Visitors are welcome to browse the Centre and take available items they can put to use. Giving an item a second home extends its useful life and keeps usable material out of the waste stream.
Because everything in the Reuse-It Centre comes from residents, the selection changes regularly and specific items are not always available.
The Reuse-It Centre is intended for clean, usable items that still have useful life left in them.
Residents can leave eligible items for others to reuse, and visitors are welcome to take available items at no cost.
Suitable items include:
Please note:
Protective sporting equipment and underclothing are not accepted.
There are also two Goodwill donation bins located inside the Reuse-It Centre.
These provide another convenient option for suitable reusable goods that are better suited to donation than to the Reuse-It Centre itself.
Please Note:
Follow the acceptance information posted on the Goodwill bins when making a donation.
We also accept reusable items for home, workshop and renovation projects, including:
Please only leave materials that are in good enough condition for someone else to take home and use.
The Reuse-It Centre is focused primarily on outdoor, sporting, home-improvement and suitable furniture items.
For reusable household goods such as:
Please consider donating these items through a local thrift store or other community donation program.
Before leaving an item, consider whether you would be comfortable taking it home yourself.
Items should be clean, functional and in reasonable condition. Damaged, dirty or unusable materials should be placed in the appropriate waste or recycling area rather than left for someone else.
The Reuse-It Centre is an open-air building, which means upholstered furniture can provide shelter and nesting areas for rodents and other pests.
To protect public health and help keep the Centre clean, upholstered items are not accepted.
This includes:
Upholstered Furniture & Mattresses Are Waste
Please take upholstered furniture and mattresses to the appropriate waste disposal area.
Certain Baby & Toddler Items Cannot Be Accepted
For safety reasons, the Reuse-It Centre cannot accept car seats or booster seats, cribs, cradles, bassinets, playpens, or other regulated child-safety products.
These products must meet current Canadian safety requirements, and their age, condition, recall status and previous use cannot always be verified when they are left for reuse.
