At Roseridge Waste Management Commission, every green cart plays a part. Through our Class I open windrow composting system, Roseridge processes more than 14,000 tonnes of organics each yearm turning food scraps, yard waste, and other organic material into high-quality Category A compost.
Healthy soil is built over time.
Roseridge has launched a multi-year agriculture trial on farmland beside our site to measure how Category A compost improves working soil and crop performance. Six tonnes per acre have been applied and will be tracked across multiple growing seasons to monitor changes in soil structure, biology, and productivity.
This project takes a balanced approach. Compost adds carbon and biological activity that strengthen soil health, while conventional nutrients provide the precision growers rely on for consistent yields. Together, they support stronger, more resilient farmland.
This video explains how the project began in November, how the trial is structured, and what we expect to learn as the data develops over time.
At Roseridge, we see waste as a resource. This project shows how that resource can be returned to the land to benefit agriculture and the region.
Did you know that certain batteries can start fires when disposed of improperly? Batteries like nickel-cadmium (NiCd) and lithium-ion don’t belong in household waste. When thrown into landfills, they pose a serious risk of hazardous leaks and spontaneous fires.
Roseridge Waste Management Commission safely manages hazardous household materials that should never go in the garbage or down the drain.
Learn the difference between Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Hazardous Special Products (HSP) — and how to identify the right drop-off option for your items. From cleaners and automotive fluids to paints, pesticides, and propane, Roseridge provides safe, year-round disposal for products that can harm people or the environment if handled incorrectly.
If you’re unsure, ask Roseridge staff for assistance. Built for recovery. Committed to a safer, more sustainable future.
🎈 Had a party with helium balloons? Here’s how to safely and responsibly dispose of your empty or partially full helium tanks with Roseridge Waste Management.
✔️ Empty tanks → Remove the relief disc, mark them “EMPTY,” and recycle as scrap metal at Roseridge.
✔️ Partially full tanks → Save them for one of our Household Hazardous Waste events.
Disposing of helium tanks properly keeps our community safe and ensures valuable materials are recovered.
Roseridge Waste Commission takes our role of waste management and environmental stewardship seriously. Garbage removal is an often overlooked and an under appreciated service. We want to share our care for residents, the environment and maximizing the life span of landfills.
These videos are valuable for students, residents, and businesses looking to learn about sustainable waste management.
