Resource Recovery Drop-Off

Roseridge accepts several materials for recovery, reuse or specialized processing instead of landfill disposal.

Use this page to find requirements for:

  • Asphalt and concrete
  • Scrap metal and wire
  • Refrigerant-containing appliances
  • Brush and branches

Materials must be separated and properly prepared before arriving.

Scan your permit card at the scale, tell staff what you are bringing and follow their directions to the appropriate drop-off area.

Asphalt & Concrete

 

Roseridge recycles clean asphalt and concrete into road base used for our roads and site surfaces. To be safely processed, material must arrive clean, properly sized and free of contaminants.

PLEASE NOTE: Asphalt and concrete are only accepted at our Morinville location.

Accepted Materials
  • Asphalt
  • Concrete
  • Bricks
  • Pavers
  • Retaining-wall blocks
  • Driveway rubble
Not Accepted
  • Slabs too large for processing equipment
  • Concrete with protruding metal
    Embedded metal is acceptable.
  • Concrete containing asbestos
  • Stucco containing wire mesh
  • Loads mixed with other waste
Prepare Your Material
  • Keep slabs to 3 feet by 3 feet or smaller.
  • Remove protruding metal before arriving.
  • Cut off exposed rebar, fence posts and wire mesh.
  • Keep the material free of garbage, wood, plastic and dirt.
  • Separate asphalt and concrete from other waste.

Before You Arrive

Prepare and sort your load before arriving—not at the pile.

Scan your permit card at the scale and tell staff you have asphalt or concrete. Staff will direct you to the designated drop-off area.

Scrap Metal, Wire and Refrigerant Appliances

 

Roseridge accepts a range of metal items and wire for recovery. Materials must be separated from household waste and prepared before arriving.

PLEASE NOTE: We have separate segregation areas for scrap metal and scrap wire at both of our facilities in Morinville and Redwater. However, refrigerant appliances are only accepted at our Morinville location.

  • Stoves and washing machines
  • Bed frames
  • Bicycles
  • Furnaces and hot-water tanks
  • Aluminum siding
  • Soffits and fascia
  • Stainless-steel sinks
  • Barbecues
  • Lawn mowers with all fluids removed
  • Open, dry drums
Wire Accepted
  • Wire rope and cable less than 3 feet long
  • Page wire
  • Barbed wire
  • Chain-link fence
  • Welded fence
  • Plastic-coated wire netting
REMINDER: Metal and wire are accepted at both our Morinville and Redwater locations.
Prepare Your Material
  • Remove all fluids from lawn mowers and other equipment.
  • Drums must be open, empty and dry.
  • Remove privacy slats, wood posts and concrete pole bases from fencing.
  • Keep wire and metal separate from household waste.
  • Secure loose wire and fencing before transport.

Refrigerant Appliances

Morinville Location Only: Refrigerant-containing appliances are only accepted at the Roseridge Waste Management Center in Morinville.

Refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, ice makers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, wine chillers and RV refrigerators require separate handling. Tell scale-house staff when you arrive with a refrigerant-containing appliance.

RV refrigerators, including units containing ammonia or other natural refrigerants

Damaged appliances are still charged the applicable disposal fee because any remaining refrigerant must be inspected and safely recovered.

Brush & Branches

Roseridge chips clean branches and brush for reuse. Loads must be free of disease, garbage and other contaminants so the material can be processed safely.

PLEASE NOTE: Brush and branches are accepted at both Roseridge locations in Morinville and Redwater.

Accepted
  • Clean tree branches of any size that are manageable
  • Clean, healthy brush
  • Branches free of black knot, Dutch elm disease and other tree diseases
Not Accepted
  • Branches or trees affected by black knot
  • Dutch elm material
  • Lumber
  • Drywall
  • Treated or painted wood
  • Garbage, plastic or other waste

Diseased tree material should be placed in the Household Waste Bins.

Prepare Your Brush Load
  • Bring branches loose and ready to unload.
  • Secure or tarp your load during transport.
  • Remove bags, twine and other binding materials.
  • Keep brush and branches separate from household waste and construction materials.

PLEASE NOTE: No bags. No twine. No bundles.

Use the Yard Waste Bins For
  • Small branches and twigs
  • Pine needles and pine cones
  • Leaves
  • Garden waste
  • Grass clippings

Yard waste bins are located at the end of the household waste bins.

Please Note: Weeds are not accepted.
